Gujarat, The First Year

As we put the presents around the Christmas tree
We look back at a year with Gujarat NRE
What was in store we did not know
As we tried to make the coal seam flow

Our workforce came from far and wide
To get a buddy to stand by your side
For when cutting coal at the face
You need some one there to keep up the pace

The machinery we use is very old
But they came with the mine when Bellpac sold
They clank and bang and shake a lot
And every now and then come to a stop

The men sweat, swear and toil
To make a wage to pay for their piece of Aussie soil
Despite all the problems they did not quip
As they managed to fill our first ship

So it has been a year of ups and downs
And I know sometimes Arun frowns
For being new boys on the block
They seem to work right around the clock

The Gujarat family as a whole
Show to the world they have a soul
They throw a good party which is very nice
And by crikey is the food full of spice

A new year is dawning and forward we look
We must strive now to fill the order book
Our future is in our hands for all to see
Lets get busy as a bee.
